the core of heirborn student ministries

 • We are all about making disciples of Jesus Christ. And we believe relationships are the backbone to growing in our faith.

 • We represent over a dozen school districts, giving students the opportunity to make friends from around the metro.

 • We have dedicated adult leaders of various ages who are passionate about investing their time into students (all have passed background checks).

 • We believe there’s a significant gap between Junior High and Senior High students, therefore we offer distinct programming for each group, while strategically mixing the two as a way for older students to act as ‘big brothers and sisters’.

 • We prioritize partnering with parents. God has ordained parents/guardians as the primary disciple-makers of their kids and the role of the church is to support that effort to the best of our ability. We love parents helping in a variety of ways and encourage frequent communication between parents and leaders/staff.

the youth gathering

Junior High & Senior High

On Wednesday nights prepare to get hype. Our large group environment is designed to engage students wherever they are in their faith journey. The Gathering includes student led worship, biblical teaching, and a variety of interactive elements. Relationships drive all we do, therefore expect to make friends right away!

Every Wednesday evening, 6:30-8:00pm

Meets in the “Backdoor” located in the SW corner of the church

Separate programming for 6th-8th grades and 9th-12th grades

student life groups

Senior High

Reflecting Jesus’ model, we believe the small group model is best suited to make disciples - the very purpose of our student ministries. By meeting in pastors homes, we desire to create a non-threatening and relaxing environment with gender and grade specific Life Groups. Each small group has adult leaders who act as life and faith mentors throughout the year. If you want to belong, this is the primary place for you!

living on mission

A significant shift is underway in our Student Ministries. Through studies and experience, we have identified one of the leading causes of student drop off post-high school is a lack of serving. Often called the “entitled generation”, students historically have contributed little to the ministry of the entire church. In an effort to produce servant-hearted, Jesus-following graduates, we work closely with students in identifying their spiritual gifts and abilities and help them find their sweet spot in the church. Every Sunday morning at First Federated, you will see dozens of students serving alongside adults - as greeters, ushers, children’s ministry leaders, in the worship band and many other areas.

  • Discover your anointed role of serving in the Body of Christ by contacting Pastor Adam
  • Areas of serving typically involve 1-2 Sundays a month
  • We also prioritize serving “missionally” outside the church, which flows mostly out of Student Life Groups
